SORA – A.S.D. Sora Calcio 1907 has received a formal legal notice from Consumerismo No Profit, an independent Italian consumer advocacy organization. The move follows a public statement released by the association on June 22, in which it called for greater transparency regarding the future of the club and the use of municipal sports facilities.
The legal notice was officially sent on June 24 and was also forwarded to the Mayor of Sora, the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), and the National Amateur League (LND).
Questions raised about the future of Sora Calcio
According to Consumerismo, the association had already requested public clarification about the future of Sora Calcio and the possible consequences for the city and its sports infrastructure. The organization says no public response has been received so far.
With the legal notice, Consumerismo formally reiterates its concerns and requests. The association argues that the issue involves important public interests, including the continued use of municipal sports facilities, the future of football in the city, and the historical and social value that Sora Calcio represents for the local community.
The organization also points out that local taxpayers have contributed for years to the maintenance and development of public sports facilities, making transparency on future decisions a matter of public interest.
Consumerismo calls for dialogue
Despite taking formal action, Consumerismo says it remains open to discussion and hopes a solution can be reached through dialogue.
“We still hope for a peaceful and negotiated solution,” said Consumerismo President Luigi Gabriele. “Dialogue is the path we prefer because a shared solution is in everyone’s interest — the city, the supporters, the athletes and the institutions. However, if necessary, we will not hesitate to use every legal tool available to defend citizens and the public interests involved.”
The association says it will continue to monitor the situation while awaiting responses from the club and the institutions involved.
